People sitting at lake shore
Willow Drive, Lake Mendota, Madison (U.S.A.)
Three people, perhaps a family, enjoy a summer day on the shore of Lake Mendota. Despite high summer temperatures, the fashion of the time dictates that women must wear long, dark skirts and jackets. To the right a man, in waistcoat and bowler, reads his newspaper. The shoreline at this point is now home to the University Boat Club, and fronts the U.W. campus. The area is extremely popular with person of all ages, either for a stroll, or for just sitting and watching life go by. (A. Rossiter)
