Tenney Park lagoon
Tenny Park, Madison (U.S.A.)
H.A. Tenney, one of the city founding fathers, bought 14 acres of land located next to the Lake Mendota outlet in 1845 and donated it to the city for use as a park. In 1900 work began on the park, which was named in honour of him. The canal and lagoon has long been one of the most popular recreational waterways for local people, for boating, fishing and swimming in the hot summer days, and for skating in the cold winters. The site is still a popular venue for locals out for a stroll or looking for some relaxation. (A. Rossiter)
