One of the biggest fresh water lakes in Western Europe

La Belotte, City of Collonges-Bellerive, Geneva
(Switzerland)

Cows drinking at the lakeside... a picture that is a dream for those who claim the right to stroll freely along the lakeshore, which intense property speculation has now largely privatized. Formerly, La Belotte had several popular restaurants, a shipyard, a fishing village and a whole group of tradesmen struggling to earn a living on the banks of the lake. The Léman is one of the greatest reserves of fresh water in Western Europe and provides more than 500,000 persons with drinking water.(C.Bertola)
