View of the Bercy Bridge that constructed in 1832 and redone in 1864. In 1909, the bridge was lifted up by a stone viaduct for the passage of the subway Étoile-Nation line. In the foreground, children enjoy fresh water, during the 1911 hot summer. The Bercy Bridge was widen from 19 to 35 meters in 1992 to create a new driveway. The Quay of Rapée ends beneath the Finance Ministry. On the right, we can see four towers which represent opened books of the new National Library. (P. Pellegrini)
