Good bye Kojaku (Railways)

Ukawa, Takashima Town, Shiga
(Japan)

The one day before the last day of the service of Kojaku Railways. Because of the construction of Kosei Railroad Line, Kojaku railways finished the service. The last service was on Nov. 1 of Showa 44 (1969). On that day many fans and photographers came and boarded the train. And among them was a person who recorded the sound of the constant beat of the wheels running over the joints of rails or straps touching the baggage rack with the tape recorder which was about to be in fashion at that time. Today Route 161 runs over the place. (A. Kobayashi)
