The Lakeside Highway , the present and the past

Pictures of Uchidehama area taken form the roof of Otsu Police Office Building. The Lakeside highway soon after the reclamation is not paved yet, People enjoys bathing near the shore. We also see the tower of the former Otsu Municipal Office in the far left. (picture above). Today further reclamation has been proceeded and the lake has gone out of sight. Increase of the traffic on the highway is incomparably large and the trees along it have grown. (A. Kobayashi)
