Picnic Point in background

University of Wisconsin, Madison
(U.S.A.)

This photograph looks north from Willow Drive, out onto Lake Mendota. Picnic Point is visible in the background. The same location today is situated right next to the Limnological Laboratory of the University of Wisconsin. The shoreline is unspoiled, and the path is gravel. The stone in the foreground is a memorial to celebrate the 90th birthday of Prof. Arthur Hasler, one of the foremost fish biologists in the world, who did much of his pioneering work in Lake Mendota.
